LION'S LAW
EVERMORE (2025) • PIRATES PRESS RECORDS
OI! / STREET PUNK / PUNK ROCK • PARIS, FRANCE
REVIEW
More than a decade after their formation, Parisian street punk heroes LION'S LAW continue to stand tall among Europe's finest Oi! bands! With "Evermore", released in 2025 through PIRATES PRESS RECORDS, the band fronted by the unmistakable Wattie delivers fifteen tracks packed with power, passion and attitude. Staying true to their street punk roots while incorporating fresh melodies, hardcore influences and carefully crafted arrangements, LION'S LAW prove that they are still moving forward. The result is a massive, energetic and incredibly catchy album.
Opening track "Paris" is a powerful tribute to their hometown, immediately setting the tone with razor-sharp guitars, pounding drums, commanding vocals and huge singalong choruses. "Brother", "Lonely Road" and "Sewer Rats" perfectly demonstrate the band's ability to combine traditional Oi! toughness with irresistible melodies. On "The World Is On Fire" and "Before Your Eyes", the atmosphere becomes darker and angrier, while "Crucified" and "The Code" show that the band has lost none of its bite. Somewhere between COCK SPARRER, THE BUSINESS and modern hardcore, LION'S LAW have developed a sound that is instantly their own.
The production is powerful, the guitars sound enormous and practically every song feels designed to ignite a packed venue. Yet beneath the sheer force of the music, there's also a band willing to explore new territory. The perfect example is their closing cover of "I Ran" by A FLOCK OF SEAGULLS, transforming an iconic 1980s new wave hit into a full-blown street punk anthem! "Evermore" confirms LION'S LAW as one of the essential names in contemporary Oi!. Fifteen tracks of powerful, melodic and anthemic punk rock: essential listening for fans of both classic street punk and its modern evolution!
