MERE MORTALS - Defeat MlP

Warning: total destruction coming straight out of Lille, France! With "Defeat", MERE MORTALS unleash nine tracks of furious, brutal and uncompromising fastcore. Formed in 2023, this French outfit wastes absolutely no time, tearing through their songs at breakneck speed. Following their debut EP "Condemned to Live", this new release makes one thing perfectly clear: MERE MORTALS have absolutely no intention of slowing down!

From the opening title track "Defeat", it's full speed ahead: razor-sharp guitars, machine-gun drumming, screamed vocals and devastating bursts of acceleration. Tracks such as "Slug Life", "Macronomics", "Last Breath" and "Stabbed" hit hard and fast, barely giving you enough time to catch your breath. The band effortlessly switches between lightning-fast attacks, crushing riffs and perfectly placed breaks, firmly rooted in the most extreme traditions of hardcore punk. This is urgent, visceral music, somewhere between fastcore, thrashcore and raw hardcore punk.

Recorded in February 2024 at La Mitterie and mastered by Will Killingsworth at the legendary Dead Air studio, "Defeat" delivers a powerful sound without sacrificing any of the band's raw aggression. No filler, no compromises: just a relentless dose of savage, out-of-control hardcore. Pressed as a single-sided 12-inch vinyl at 45 RPM, limited to just 200 copies, this record is an absolute blast for anyone into fast, abrasive and uncompromising hardcore. Play it loud!
