Originally released in 1984, Totally Exploited brings together some of the most iconic tracks from the early years of THE EXPLOITED. A full-on blast of UK82 punk capturing all the brutality, urgency and provocative attitude that made the Scottish band one of the essential names of early '80s British punk.
From « Punk's Not Dead » and « Army Life », there is absolutely no mistaking the sound: abrasive guitars, pounding drums, shouted choruses and Wattie Buchan's instantly recognizable voice. « Barmy Army », « Dogs Of War », « Dead Cities » and the essential « Sex & Violence » deliver one anthem after another with the raw simplicity and efficiency that define the best of THE EXPLOITED.
The compilation draws heavily from the band's early singles and first albums. It also includes « I Believe In Anarchy », « Psycho », « Blown To Bits », « S.P.G. », « Jimmy Boyle », « (Fuck The) U.S.A. » and « Rival Leaders ». No unnecessary sophistication here: direct riffs, street-level choruses, provocative lyrics and relentless energy.
Totally Exploited is therefore a perfect introduction to the early years of THE EXPLOITED. Twenty tracks that perfectly capture the UK82 spirit: fast, aggressive, loud and uncompromising. A collection of classics that shows exactly why, more than forty years after their formation, THE EXPLOITED remains inseparable from the history of British punk.
